What I do: 
Mary Story, PhD, RD, is a professor in Global Health and Family Medicine and Community Health and Global Health at Duke University. She directs Healthy Eating Research a national program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, focused on policy, systems, and environmental solutions to improve diet quality and prevent child obesity. Her PhD is in nutrition science, and her research focuses primarily on nutrition, obesity prevention and diet-related issues of low-income and youth of color and their families. She has authored more than 500 scientific publications in this area. Dr. Story served on the 2015 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee. She is an elected member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences. She has received several awards including The Obesity Society 2019 Friends of Albert (Mickey) Stunkard Lifetime Achievement Award.
