Frequently Asked Questions

What is NOPREN?

NOPREN is a collaborative research network that informs policies and practices designed to support the equitable intake of healthy, nutritious foods.

The network includes policy researchers and evaluators, practitioners, people representing professional organizations and community organizations, and people working in government agencies.

We seek to understand the effectiveness of policies and practices enacted at the federal, state, tribal, and local levels, and their impact on access to healthy food and water, food security, dietary intake, and health.

Visit  NOPREN 101 to learn more about the network.

Who can be a member of NOPREN?

Anyone who conducts academic research or participates in the implementation, evaluation, or dissemination of nutrition policies and programs (including people working in departments of public health and local non-profit agencies) are invited to participate. We highly encourage early-career researchers and practitioners to join in order to participate in our networking and professional-development opportunities.
