What I do:
Dr. Winkler is a population health scientist and former clinician. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences as Emory University Rollins School of Public Health. Her current research centers two socio-structural determinants to population health and health equity-- (1) retail food environments and (2) people’s employment conditions, such as their pay, benefits, and employment security. Leveraging a wide range of methodological tools, including qualitative, epidemiologic, and systems science, she aims to understand the complex ways these determinants contribute to health and identify key opportunities for addressing them.
