We are excited to have Daniel Weghuber, MD, Gabriel Torbahn, BSc, MPH, and Julian Gomahr from the Department of Pediatrics, Obesity Research Unit and Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, Paracelsus Medical University present their updated Cochrane Review on AOMs. They will also present their planned research scope to collect information on health behavior and lifestyle treatments of those included in RCT's using an EDIT framework. Natalie Lister, PhD from the Children's Hospital at Westmead Clinical School, University of Sydney will present this framework to deconstruct complex interventions developed by the Eating Disorders in Weight-Related Therapy (EDIT) Collaboration. Daniel Weghuber is Professor of Pediatrics at Paracelsus Medical University (PMU) in Salzburg, Austria. Clinically, he is Head of the Department of Pediatrics, also heading the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and the Obesity Research Unit at PMU, focusing on metabolic comorbidities including glucose and fat metabolism and phenotypes of preclinical atherosclerosis. Other areas of interest include orthopedic and psychological comorbidities, interdisciplinary diagnostics, mitochondrial genetics, and lifestyle and pharmacological treatment of childhood obesity. He is currently Past President of the European Childhood Obesity Group.
Gabriel Torbahn is a nutrition and public health scientist at the Department of Pediatrics, PMU Nuremberg, where he is heading the nutrition team, and is co-head of the obesity counseling center. His main scientific focus is on pediatric obesity; his methodological focus is on evidence syntheses (systematic reviews, (network) meta-analyses) and evidence-based guidelines. He is member of national an international boards of medical professional societies in the field of obesity.
Julian Gomahr is a pediatric resident and PhD candidate at the Department of Pediatrics, PMU Salzburg, and part of the Obesity Research Unit there. His research interests focus on metabolic phenotypes in pediatric obesity and the links between metabolic comorbidities and genetics.
Natalie Lister is Co-lead and Principal Investigator of the EDIT Collaboration. She is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Sydney, Australia. Natalie has a background as a clinical dietitian and her research is practice-led, investigating dietary interventions that will prevent and manage obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular risk and mental health concerns in children and adolescents. Her current research investigates the safety and efficacy of dietary interventions for weight management in adolescents.
