USDA's Actions on Nutrition Security (Bleich)

This NOPREN State-of-the-Science webinar highlights the USDA’s newly released report, USDA’s Actions on Nutrition Security. The report summarizes how the USDA is leveraging its existing authorities, resources, and touchpoints to support nutrition security, which means all Americans have consistent and equitable access to safe, healthy, affordable foods essential to optimal health and well-being.

Dr. Sara Bleich, Director of Nutrition Security and Health Equity in the Food & Nutrition Service (FNS) at USDA, will provide a comprehensive overview of the report, highlighting emerging research, available data sets, and policy research and evaluation needs and opportunities in the next 1 to 3 years to advance nutrition security. Dr. Bleich will also elevate strategies for public health practitioners to work more closely with key nutrition security partners around increasing the availability of healthy foods in food banks, food pantries, and other community-based charitable food programs. Join the webinar to learn more about roles you may play in promoting and advancing nutrition security in the United States!
