What I do: 
Funke Ajenikoko is a Senior Policy Analyst at the American Heart Association. As a senior policy analyst, Funke manages the obesity, nutrition, and air quality portfolios for the Policy Research team. Prior to joining the American Heart Association, Funke worked at Resolve to Save Lives, an initiative of Vital Strategies, as a Program Officer for Nutrition and Surveillance. Her work at Resolve largely focused on implementing sodium reduction policies and interventions at the country and global level as well as working on the global advocacy portfolio. Some of her previous work experiences included time working for the Women, Infant, and Children (WIC) program in Dallas county as a Nutritionist and acting as the Project Coordinator for a weight management study ran out of the Manhattan Veteran Affairs hospital.

Funke was born and raised in Texas where she received a BS in Dietetics from the University of Texas at Austin. She also received an MPH in Public Health Nutrition from New York University’s College of Global Public Health.

In her spare time, Funke enjoys experimenting with new recipes, taking Spanish language courses, and critiquing reality television.
